Halloween on (Library) Wheels...

Did you know that the Claremont Colleges Library has gone mobile? (As in a big yellow handcart, complete with umbrella). Our Mobile Library will be making rounds throughout the campuses on Halloween, Monday, October 31, handing out candy and thrills/chills.


Look for the cart at the following times and locations:

10:30-11:30 Pitzer - Near McConnell Center and the recreation area
11:30-12:30 CMC - Near "Butler Plaza"
12:30-1:30 Scripps - On the lawn near Malott Commons
1:30-2:30 HMC - Near Hoch-Shanahan dining hall
2:30-3:30 CGU/Library - On the lawn north of Honnold-Mudd Library
3:30-4:30 Pomona - Near the Sage Hen or somewhere at the intersection of 6th and College

Greater reach for your research: What it means to open up senior theses and undergraduate research



The Claremont College Library collects, preserves and provides access to theses and undergraduate research to prospective and current students, researchers in the wider academic community, prospective employers, your friends and admirers, and the general public via the colleges' repository of faculty and student scholarship, Scholarship@Claremont.

In honor of Open Access Week, hear experts and advocates from The Claremont Colleges and give insight to their views and experiences. Get your questions answered, fears dissolved, and wishes granted!

Andrew J. Bernoff, HMC math Dept. Chair and Thesis Advisor, has been championing a project to provide access to all HMC math faculty scholarship and HMC Math Department senior theses in S@C.

Gregory Hess
, CMC VP for Academic Affairs, Dean of the Faculty, and thesis advisor, has been instrumental in advocating for the requirement for CMC seniors to post their theses in S@C.

Michael Boock, Center for Digital Scholarship and Services at Oregon State University managing the ScholarsArchive@OSU serving as the open access repository for the university's official undergraduate and graduate student theses and dissertations since 2005.

Marisa Ramirez, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, responsible for the development and implementation of the DigitalCommons@CalPoly, a digital repository that provides online open access to scholarship and research produced by Cal Poly faculty and students.
