Celebrate the Book Arts- Exhibition and Reception, 4/21

Celebrating-the-Book-Arts-banner.jpgThe Claremont Colleges Library invites you to Celebrate the Book Arts by attending a reception and exhibition featuring altered books from RE:BOOK and contemporary artists' books from Special Collections and Denison Library!

This dual exhibition showcases student creativity and stunning artistry. Claremont Colleges students created altered books (aka: RE:BOOKs) from worn books, magazines, newspapers, maps and other recycled materials. The RE:BOOKs are paired with contemporary artists' books from our campus collections. An artist's book brings together imagery and text in a publication that is in itself a work of art. This selection of items illustrates the interplay of words and images in forms that push the boundaries of what constitutes a book.
